Spring Flowers

The chocolate vine at the end of the garden is in full bloom and it's sweet scent is perfuming the air in this warm spell. It's lovely to come home from work and sit under it's branches in the fading daylight, with it's promise of the summer to come. The whole garden is waking up, the different greens vibrant and vivid.

Passing on the Beautiful Blogger Award

And the award goes out to
I enjoy reading so many blogs that this has been a bit of a dilemma as to who to chose so these are just some of the blogs that stuck in my mind this week. Please try to pay them a visit and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

My First Award

I'm thrilled to have been awarded this by Shirl over at Indigo Shirl , my first ever award. It is so sweet of her. Please check out her blog, it's lovely. Now I have to pass this honour on to others and that is going to take more time to consider than I have at present so I'll get back to you with my nominees in the next few days :)

More Tulips

More tulips from my garden this time :)

Spring has arrived with Tulips

Some friends came over for dinner last night and brought over some lovely tulips for me. Here are some of them in one of my favourite jugs, a hand thrown slip ware jug by Paul Young. Also a sneeky peek at the colours in the lounge but it's not finished yet, so more piccys to follow.

Here are a couple of vintage tins I picked up from a local charity shop, I just love the funky graphics and the one on the right I think are tulips. They used to hold Fox's Glacier mints and I assume they are from the 70s.

A close up of the tulips, showing a hint of their dark centres.

I had these lovely ATCs through from a Birth Year swap on Milliande, thanks to artists, Toos Schrama, Monica Chi and Monika Schmid.

Latest Charity Shop Find

Found this really sweet plate in a charity shop today. I love lilacs and they remind me of my old cat Freddie, as he used to like to lie under the miniature lilac I had in my old garden. My grandma always maintained it was bad luck to bring lilac into the house so this plate is a good alternative.

Easter Decorating Weekend

The redecoration of the lounge has begun, finally decided on my palette, cleared the room and off I go. It's been wet and windy outside so I'm quite glad to be inside. I love getting colour on the wall and find painting very theraputic, calming and satisfying.Bill decided to supervise, that is when he's not escaping out and getting stuck up a tree! He's just into everything :)

Hope you're all having a wonderful Easter.
