Car Boot Treasures

Do you ever have one of those weeks when you wake up and seemingly, all of a sudden, it's the weekend and you wonder
  1. where's the week gone? and
  2. blimey it's the weekend and you've made no plans
Well that's been my week. Last weekend was different, I made plans with friends to go to a car boot sale, something I'd not done for ages and ages.

As you can see from these pictures I came home with a lot of treasure. Lots of ribbons, some sequin waste and alot of rubber stamps (I seem to be thinking of Christmas, lol).

Oodles of pieces of lace,

very pretty doillies and tray cloths, ideal for journals,

Wonderful old Sunday school books for collaged backgrounds, dated 1907,

Pretty tablecloths to use as tablecloths, and the holey ones for fabric, and a lacey skirt to tear up and use in journals,

Some pieces are just so sweet I might just have to keep them as they are.

As for the rest of weekend I will be making sample wedding invitations, reading and generally putting my feet up :)

WIP My first attempt at Bunting

I'm currently working on this bunting as a birthday present for someone. Birthday's a week today so fairly on top of it, which is not like me, I'm a 'work right up to the deadline' kind of a lass.
It's for adorning a dresser so only 5 pennants needed.

I've used vintage book paper on a recycled pizza box base, with stamps and then I just can't stay away from the little fabric collages, lol.

Just got to figure out what to string them with, ribbon, scrap fabric, crocheted chain, phew, this crafting makes you think!
A big hello to my latest followers, tonight I could see you as Blogger has been playing up again recently. Hope you enjoy my little blog :)

Bookmarks

I've been working on making bookmarks and this is a selection. I've used ordinary, advertising covered card bookmarks that you can pick up free in libraries and covering them with foreign language scripts and musical scores. Then I've used paper napkins, acrylic paints, stickles, stamps etc. I've again enjoyed working in a 'series'. It allows me to get on with one whilst thinking about the next step for another, it allows for experimentation as well. Now the thorny problem of tassle or no tassle.....
